The Viterbo civic museum is in the old Santa Maria della Verità convent, in Crispi square.

This gallery is a collection of many different works such as necropolis evidences of the surrounding territory, found in Norchia, Castel d'asso e Cipolletta.

There are many sculptures coming from Blera and Ferento, and even important Middle Age material.

As soon as you get in the museum you can find an amazing cloister where there are tens of sarcophagus.

All the ground floor is dedicated to the etruscan and roman age.

In the first floor instead, you can find the picture galleries where there are many paintings. The most famous are The Pity and the Jesus flagellation made by the famous Sebastiano Luciani.

The Majolica Museum in Viterbo

The majolica museum is unique gallery dedicated to the ceramic and It can be found in Viterbo, in the Brunotti Palace, exactly in via Cavour.

In this exhibition there is a big collection of ceramic wares coming from many places in Tuscia territory.

This museum can be divided according to different periods, from XVII century, where the objects were really simple, to the hand-worked wares of the XIX century.

Thanks to this galley is possible to see the evolution, which has taken place during the years, in working this useful material.

In a old but really nice warehouse, owned by the Abbadia San Salvatore monks, on the wounderful Amiata Mountain scenery there is the Tuscia Land Museum.

This gallery is a private collection of the old typical objects. Here you can find farming tools, artisans objects, typical old things and even ancient religious stuff.

There is a complete section dedicated to oral traditions, proverbs and popular song passed on by just voice.

Outside there is a very nice garden where is possible to learn how to recognize the aromatic plants for cooking and fruits to eat.

Farnesian Costume Museum in Gradoli

In Gradoli, a tiny village next to the Bolsena Lake, there is a very nice gallery called the Farnesian Costume Museum.

Even thanks to multimedia elements, here you can see how the people used to dress in this territory many years ago.

You can see noble, popular and ecclesiastical cloths as well as ancient underwear and jewellery.

Many of these objects belonged to Farnese family.

The Orte Diocesan Museum

Inside an old roman church, exactly in Colonna square in Orte, there is a nice Diocesan Museum. Here you can find many precious art works.

Very precious is a Virgin Mary mosaic from the VIII century. This is one of the few remains of the Jonh the seventh Oratory in San Pietre in Rome.
